Over the last three years I have written about my personal experience as a victim of corruption in Chicago Family Courts. Corruption in Chicago has often occurred within the Cook County Democratic Party itself and some of the crimes I’ve reported specifically relate to party judicial endorsements and appointments. I am far from the first person to discuss the “Cook County Machine”. However, while some of the political levers involved in Chicago judicial corruption relate to political parties, my case is not partisan and I am not either.
My politics are and should be pretty irrelevant to the fact that I am a victim of judicial corruption, a federal whistleblower to tax and financial crimes, and a witness and victim of municipal racketeering crimes. However I have repeatedly seen comments on social media suggesting that I am secretly “anti-democrat” because I raise concerns about some Chicago politicians and judges who are democrats.
The fact is that I did not identify as a democrat when I was younger because I was too far left of the party, particularly on the topic of the death penalty. I voted in my first presidential race for Ralph Nader against Bill Clinton. I never particularly liked Clintons but I voted for the other one. In 2008 I came back to the democratic party because of Obama, like a lot of people. I really like Joe Biden but I don’t like the way I’m being treated by employees of The Department of Justice under Biden.
I think Representative Jan Schakowsky, who was my congresswoman for almost a decade, should explain to me why she endorsed Brad Trowbridge to become a judge after he defrauded me, particularly to explain who asked her to endorse Trowbridge. But even after she refused to tell me I still voted for Jan Schakowsky because the guy running against her would dismantle the FBI. From what I know, it‘s only the FBI which would discover if Representative Schakowsky has in fact done anything wrong (to my knowledge she hasn’t).
I don’t write about Chicago corruption because I’m anti-democrat. I write about Chicago corruption because I’m pro-democracy.
