Your support is needed to protect children.
When The Court is Your Abuser
I'm Megan Mason. I've devoted the last eight years to fighting corruption in American family courts but not by choice. I've lost my job, my home, my reputation and my children for testifying about federal crimes I've witnessed in Chicago divorce courts.
The United Nations and The United States Department of Justice are just two groups that have come out in recent years to raise alarm over a family court system that overwhelmingly grants parenting rights to child abusers, while punishing protective parents like me. But on top of the patina of sleaze that diminishes the family court system in general, this being Chicago, it's also a bit mobbed up, though I think these days the only real godfathers in town wear robes. And though it indeed kills my liberal ass to say it, there is no bigger crime family in town than The Democratic Party of Cook County, eg the Machine.
So that's how my life turned into #metoo meets Goodfellas with much less attractive characters. Two years ago I became a federal witness and whistleblower and was placed under the protection of US Marshals but that didn't mean the crimes against me stopped. I provided extensive testimony under affidavit about trial judge Robert Johnson, who is still my judge and has imposed such harsh sanctions and garnished so much of my salary when I was employed that I was forced into homelessness. But although I have no way to return to my old career, I have been working passionately to advocate for family court justice. I made this presentation as a way for you to financially support the work I'm doing to bring justice to mothers and children.
I've been screaming into a void for years and I'm losing my voice. But I know you probably don't believe this could be happening because I used to be you. I wouldn't have believed me either. But I'm telling the truth. I'm dying from corruption and I need help. Please read my story. Please believe me. Please help me. A suggested donation of $5 supports the work I've shared here and anything more is greatly appreciated. If you aren't in a position to support me but you care about this issue, please share this presentation with five people you know who care about protecting mothers and children.
Help me fight for my boys
I've been forced into homelessness due to illegal court sanctions following my federal testimony against a crooked divorce judge. I've been working in an Asheville daycare taking care of babies while waiting for my next court appearance, but have now lost housing and need to raise money to get back to Chicago for court. I'm trying to raise $3,000 to cover my past due car and storage payments, campgrounds and Airbnbs and gas for the next two months. I also need to keep my dog because he's all I have left so I need food for both of us.
A week of advocacy for domestic violence victims in family courts
Since becoming a federal whistleblower two years ago, I have been working in finance and, when forced out of that profession, an infant daycare to support myself. At the same time I have been advocating full time for victims of abuse by court. This includes: filing federal lawsuits to raise this issue in civil rights discussions, attending court hearings for other protective parents as a civil rights observers, and publishing short and long form content to educate the public about the crisis in family courts.
I now need to return to Chicago for another hearing (which I am hoping, as always will lead to prosecutions) and my landlord is selling my home so I'm spending the next two months camping and traveling with my dog to try to raise awareness of the civil rights crisis in American family courts. $500 covers one week of my living expenses which include: the cost of my car payment and insurance, monthly fee for the storage unit where my children's possessions are kept, gas, food, campgrounds or Airbnbs, and my phone and internet costs.
If you care about the civil rights of American mothers and children in our courts, your contribution of a week of my advocacy work will allow me to consistently move American moms and kids closer to justice. Thank you so much!
